One of the more unique pieces that we have available for you is an ornate red velvet setee. This piece is from the American Aesthetic movement. The American Aesthetic movement was prominent in Europe in the 19th century but still has followers today. This particular piece dates back to the 1880’s.
Framed antique / vintage documents
Trummy Young autograph– Mr. Trummy Young was born January 12, 1912 and was a trombonist in the swing era. He grew up right here in Savannah and was not only a musician but a composer of music as well. Before joining up to play alongside Louis Armstrong, he played a Clyde Hart– led session in 1945 with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.
Georgia land grant contract circa February 1832– In the early 19th century (1805-1833), the main land distribution system in Georgia was the land lottery. In these lotteries, qualifying citizens could register for a chance to win land that was, most recently, property of the Creek Indians and the Cherokee Nation. One of our land grants is dated February 1832 and is for 40 acres in Cherokee County, GA. This grant was a part of the sixth or seventh land lottery.
Walter Lantz framed autograph– Walter Lantz was the creator of the famous cartoon character Woody Woodpecker. Our piece is a framed, autographed photograph of Walter himself.
Being located in the heart of Savannah means that we are in close quarters with the Savannah College of Art and Design. This piece (pictured on the right) is an original watercolor that was created by a past student at the prestigious school. The subject of the piece is from a famous opera- Carmen.
Franklin Mint Card & Dice Game- This item consists of a hardwood box with a high-gloss finish that has brass handles and latches.
